Benzinga – A highly anticipated presidential debate on Thursday will see Donald Trump and President Joe Biden go head-to-head on key issues ahead of the 2024 election.
While many will tune in to hear the latest on the 2024 election, some viewers can participate in a $10,000 prediction pool that can win bettors money for watching and predicting the debate topics and answers.
What happened: Trump and Biden will meet Thursday for the first presidential debate of the 2024 election cycle.
The debate is presented by CNN, a unit of Warner Bros. Discovery (NASDAQ:WBD), will have CNN anchors Jake Tapper and Dana Bash as the moderators.
This presidential debate will be different from previous debates with no live audience, no props or pre-written notes and muted microphones. The debate will also air commercial breaks for commercials after both candidates agreed to this change.

DraftKings Prediction Market: Sportsbook DraftKings Inc (NASDAQ:DKNG) can make watching the first presidential debate more fun with a $10,000 prediction pool.
More than 24,000 have registered for the free competition at the time of writing with no limit on the number of participants with a limit of one entry per person.
Winners will be paid out with DraftKings dollars that can be used at the company’s sportsbook and daily fantasy contests. Here is the prize paytable, with 1,690 people being paid out.
1st: $500
2nd to 5th: $100 each
6th to 10th: $50 each
11th to 20th: $25 each
21st to 70th: $10 each
71st to 1690th: $5 each

Which of these primary contenders will be called first by name: Ron DeSantis, Nikki Haley, Vivek Ramaswamy, Chris Christie, Tim Scott, Doug Burgum, Mike Pence, none of the above
Will Donald Trump refer to Joe Biden by a nickname (other than “Joe” or “President Biden): yes, no

DraftKings offers betting on the upcoming 2024 US presidential election to residents in Canada, but US bettors cannot bet on the election.
DraftKings CEO Jason Robins previously told Benzinga that he hopes the US approves betting on elections in the future.
“I think if it was in the US it would be even bigger. I don’t see any particular reason not to allow election betting in the US,” Robins told Benzinga.
Polymarket Odds: Along with the DraftKings prediction market, the cryptocurrency prediction market, which bills itself as the world’s largest prediction market, offers bets on the presidential election.

Interestingly, the Polymarket odds show a 4% chance of Trump mentioning crypto or Bitcoin (CRYPTO: BTC) during the debate. With Trump recently becoming positive about the cryptocurrency sector, some expect him to continue the pressure on Biden’s crypto policies, which have often skewed anti-crypto.
