The uncertainty and hype surrounding the arrival of Bitcoin ETFs came to a happy end with the SEC approval, and 2024 is ripe for new conversations about crypto, blockchain and Web3. Crypto events this year will serve as a hub for talking about the recovery market, each promising to be a hotbed of discussion, innovation and strategic insights for people who attend.
Not only do crypto events provide some of the best places to meet and mingle with top names in the space, they also offer the benefit of being ‘in the know’ about the latest technologies and drops before anyone else. Those interested in advancing themselves, learning from the best in the industry, meeting people to collaborate with on a project, or even finding their next hire flock to these spaces to do so.
Here are the top five crypto events to attend in the first half of 2024.
ETHDenver In February
Known as one of the premier events focused on the vast Ethereum ecosystem, ETHDenver has become a staple in blockchain and Web3 events since 2018. As a community-owned ‘innovation festival’ held in Denver, Colorado, ETHDenver nurtures building for a decentralized future.
This year the event runs from 23 February to 7 March with three main pillars — the main event, the #BUIDLWeek, and the MTN Retreat. #BUIDLWeek will serve as a kick-off to the festival and offer visitors a place in live workshops, technical presentations, bootcamps, mini-summits and networking parties.
Following BUIDLWeek is the main event, which aims to connect over 20,000 community members of SporkDAO with Denver to exchange ideas and work on blockchain innovation. It will feature speeches, panels, workshops and a project fair.
Finally, the MTN Retreat from March 4th to March 7th offers a more relaxed setting in Breckenridge, Colorado. Participants can participate in skiing, networking and informal blockchain discussions, providing a unique blend of relaxation and learning.
Crypto Expo Europe In March
Crypto Expo Europe 2024 will bring the blockchain and crypto industry to Eastern Europe. Taking place March 3-4 in Bucharest, Romania, the event promises to be an enriching and educational experience for crypto enthusiasts, industry professionals, and those curious about the future of blockchain and cryptocurrency.
The conference aims to welcome more than 3,000 participants with a series of prominent speakers from various sectors of the crypto world, including regional leaders of major companies such as Binance and CoinDesk, as well as CEOs and founders of influential blockchain organizations. Crypto Expo Europe is designed as a dynamic platform for networking, collaboration and knowledge exchange, accommodating the growing interest and diverse perspectives in the blockchain world.
Digital Assets Summit in March
Digital Asset Summit 2024, or simply DAS 2024, is another major crypto event taking place in the first quarter. Organized by Blockworks, the event seeks to gather institutional digital asset players in London, United Kingdom.
DAS 2024 aims to provide participants with insight into the impact of regulatory implications and the need for realistic policy frameworks in the digital asset space. The event will offer opportunities for institutional dining and exclusive networking opportunities. Furthermore, attendees will gain insights from industry leaders through expert-led panel discussions, fireside chats and direct engagement with policymakers and experts.
Speakers at the event include notable figures such as Dan Tapiero, Pascal Gauthier, Anthony Scaramucci and Michael Sonnenshein, among others, who will share their expertise and perspectives on various aspects of digital assets.
Paris Blockchain Week In April
Paris Blockchain Week (PBW) will open its doors to blockchain, Web3 and digital asset ecosystems from April 9 to 11 at the Carrousel du Louvre in Paris, France. As one of the largest gatherings in Europe, PBW 2024 is a week-long experience for industry veterans, professionals, brands and blockchain enthusiasts with a mix of exhibitions, keynotes, workshops and networking events.
Along with the main event, PBW will host a hackathon for developers, a talent fair where Web3 talents and employers can meet and greet, and an investor-focused day to catch up with Web3 investors and startups.
The lineup of speakers includes prominent figures from the blockchain and Web3 industry, such as Binance CEO Richard Teng, Circle Chairman Jeremy Allaire, and Societe Generale CIO Claire Calmejane. The event topics include open finance, artificial intelligence, regulations, CBDCs, corporate Web3 and payments.
Following the success of last year’s event, PBW plans to attract over 10,000 attendees who will have a chance to listen to over 500 speakers.
Token 2049 In April
Dubai became the hotbed of Web3 and crypto conversations, and global events began to take notice. Token 2049 is one of them, hosting one leg of its biannual events in Dubai – with the other being Singapore.
This year, Token 2049 Dubai takes place on April 18 to 19, offering a two-day gathering of leaders and enthusiasts from crypto and Web3 industries. The event brings famous crypto figures, such as Tyler Winklevoss, CEO of Gemini, Arthur Hayes, founder of Bitmex, and Jeremy Allaire, CEO of Circle, in front of a packed audience.
Aside from the main conference, the Token 2049 Week will run from April 15 to April 21, with the aim of establishing a vibrant hub for crypto discussions and activities.
